DCE FOR TWIFO ATTI-MORKWA DISTRICT ORGANIZES FREE EYE SCREENING EXERCISE FOR THE RESIDENTS IN THE DISTRICT
The district chief executive for Twifo Atti-morkwa district of central region Hon. Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi has invited a team of eye specialists from Dunkwa Municipal Hospital to screen and treat the eyes of the residents in the district.
During the exercise which took place at Twifo Bipoben, Dr. Daniella Nana Yaa, an optometrist at Dunkwa Municipal Hospital in the central region has cautioned the general public against the use of breast milk to treat eye diseases.
She explained that the breastfeeding mother may have infection in the breast milk which she is not even aware of, so the moment she drops it on the eye, the eye immediately gets infected in addition to the original problem.
She thus advised that, the best place to report any eye related issue is the certified eye facility and no any other place.

Dr. Daniella also revealed that another commonest way of getting eye problem is the use of different colours of light bulbs at the same time at our homes, churches, hotels, workplaces and many other places. She said that we endanger our eyes when we visit such places for various reasons.
The district chief executive for Twifo Atti-morkwa district Hon. Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi also advised parents and guardians to pay particular attention to their children when the children are playing and also urged the parents to go along with their children anytime there is eye screening exercise in their areas.
