The Brong Ahafo Chapter of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association celebrated women and Gender yesterday with a seminar.
The theme for the celebration was Empowering women to take control of their lives through vaccination against Cervical Cancer
Present to grace the occasion were
- The Bono East Regional CNMO, Mrs Joyce Eshun, who chaired the occasion
- The national coordinator for women and Gender, Mrs Irene Mensah Jacobs
- The middle Zone Coordinator for women and Gender, Mrs Harriet Awuni
- The presenter on cervical cancer and also a tutor in Sunyani NMTC , Lawyer Hamindatu Banawabali Seidu
- The media: GBC Radio and TV, ADOM Radio and TV and Sunyani based Ark FM
Participants were representatives drawn from all the district in the Region.
The take home message from the occasion was a call for policy makers to include cervical cancer vaccinations to routine vaccinations to create the needed access for all.
The region is also celebrating their International nurses day today.
