STRAY DOG BITES 13 PERSONS AT DOMINASE IN THE GOMOA EAST DISTRICT OF CENTRAL REGION.
13 persons are currently being treated for suspected rabies after they were bitten by a stray dog at Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the central region. The dog attacked its victims in a fierce manner causing injury to them.

According to residents, the stray dog began its expedition on the morning of Monday June 19, 2023. As at Tuesday 13 persons had fallen prey.
Here are some of the victims narrating to Citi News how they were attacked by the dog.
Assemblyman for Gomoa Dominase Electoral Area is Bennie Musloni Akwasi and tells Citi News that the dog is being hunted for to be eliminated. However, the traditional council of the area has commissioned a task force to kill any dog found in the community as it is against their custom to own a dog in the community. 11 dogs have been killed since the task force began their operations on Tuesday.
The Potsin Polyclinic and Buduata health center are where the victims received the precautionary treatment against rabies. So far all the 13 victims have been discharged.
The Gomoa East health directorate says it has taken precautionary steps to prevent the outbreak of rabies in the enclave.
Director of health Felix Agyemang Adipare tells Metro News that his outfit shall be taking the sample of the dog to the lab for investigations once it has been found and killed.
