The youth of Twifo Abodom in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district of central region have clashed with their counterpart from Wassa Hemanso in the Wassa East district of western region which has resulted in blood shedding among the battle field youth.

This comes after a wild misunderstanding and a violent argument ensued between the two groups when the Twifo Abodom youth attended a vigil (wake keeping) at Wassa Hemanso yesterday.

During the climax of the wake keeping when dancing had become unstoppable for the dancers, one of the boys from Wassa Hemanso from nowhere slapped a boy from Twifo Abodom who was busily rocking the floor with his female dancing partner.

So, the victim went back to Twifo Abodom after receiving the thunderous slap to report the incident to the youth in the community who were also sparked by the cheerless report of their friend so this morning, they also laid ambush on the youth of Wassa Hemanso where both communities battled each other with cutlasses, sticks and stones.

As a result, many of the youth from each side have sustained serious degrees of injuries who were referred to Wassa Ateiku health center and Twifo Praso district hospital for medical treatment.

However, the Twifo Atti-morkwa district police command have intervened to
restore peace and harmony between the two communities.

mconline.info spoke with Hon. Jerry John Dankwa, the assembly man of Twifo Abodom electoral area who assured that he would lock horns with the police and the chiefs in the two communities to ensure that chaos of such natural never happens again in the area.
