The Cape Coast Teaching Hospital is nine years old since it was commissioned as a Teaching Hospital to help improve on service delivery and to train Medical Doctors.

The Hospital continues to address “the health needs of the people of Central and Western Regions and other adjoining Regions, the CEO stressed.

He said this during the Annual Performance Review for the year 2022 held at the GRNMA Hotel, Cape Coast. The CEO in his Welcome Address stated that, the Hospital will ” be nine (9) tears as a Teaching Hospital and have so far produced 564 doctors”.

The Hospital was first established as a Regional Hospital and commissioned in August 1998 and on 2014 upgraded into a Teaching Hospital.

This upgraded became necessary because of the “establishment of the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Cape Coast to serve as the main facility for the teaching of the medical students”.

The Hospital intends to “celebrate the 25th – year anniversary ” this year, the Chief Executive stated.
