In pursuit of a thorough impact assessment of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) activities within the Central Region and its districts, the regional executives conducted an extensive tour. This initiative was designed to directly engage with grassroots members, provide education on union activities—particularly regarding the Conditions of Service (COS)—and to ascertain the challenges encountered by members in the district.
The regional delegation, on a mission to fortify connections within the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa (AOB) District, was accorded a cordial reception by the district’s executives. A formal visit was made to the District Director of Health for AOB, Mr. Cletus Bayor, who hospitably welcomed the delegation and sanctioned the tour across his district. The discourse encompassed several pivotal topics:
- The challenges confronting members within the district.
- Feasible strategies for the disbursement of the 13th-month allowance to members.
- Issues concerning human resource personnel who potentially influence or falsify the selection process for new entrants, which were duly noted by the District Director.
The delegation’s schedule proceeded with engagements at Our Lady of Grace Hospital in Asikuma, followed by visits to the Asikuma Health Center, Odoben Polyclinic, Brakwa Polyclinic, and culminated at Jambra Polyclinic.
Throughout these engagements, the regional executives disseminated detailed information about the welfare packages available to members and deliberated on the Conditions of Service (COS) recently negotiated by the Association’s leadership.
In unity, we find our collective strength.
