TWIFO ATTI-MORKWA DISTRICT ASSEMBLY BEGINS PROSECUTING THE OFFENDERS OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND SANITATION LAWS TO PROMOTE PUBLIC HEALTH
According to the Twifo Atti-morkwa district health and environmental officer Mr. Emmanuel Forson, the residents in Twifo Praso use river Pra for so many activities both domestic and industrial purposes so when human excretion is channeled into it, there is the high tendency of outbreak of typhoid, diarrhea and other diseases in the district.

The Twifo Atti-morkwa district health and environmental department has prosecuted three people whose work is to build Bio digester toilet facility for the people in Twifo Praso for connecting the pipes of the toilet into river Pra and other drainage channels.
The three were fined gh600 each by the Twifo Praso district court.
According to the Twifo Atti-morkwa district health and environmental officer Mr. Emmanuel Forson, the residents in Twifo Praso use river Pra for so many activities both domestic and industrial purposes so when human excretion is channeled into it, there is the high tendency of outbreak of typhoid, diarrhea and other diseases in the district.
He cautioned plumbers and masons who work with these Bio digester companies that they should make sure that their work does not cause any environmental problems to the public health.

Listowel Aboagye Dacosta of Wassaman Fm also spoke with the District Chief Executive of Twifo Atti-morkwa district Hon. Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi who also lamented that, the major challenge in Twifo Praso, the district capital of Twifo Atti-morkwa district is poor sanitation practices.
He reiterated that, the district assembly has consciously empowered the environmental health department to prosecute any individual, group or organization that flouts on the environmental laws so that it will serve as deterrence to others.
