EASTERN REGIONAL GRNMA UNDERTAKES EDUCATIONAL TOUR

A high powered delegation of some Regional and District Executives of ER GRNMA led by Rev Hayford Laryea (Regional Chairman) visited Achiase District Health Directorate on Thursday, 18th May, 2023 to ascertain the facts on the ground following the assault of the nurses at Akim Osoroase CHPS.

We were received by the Administrator of the DHA who briefed us on the measures taken so far since the incident, which included:

1. Closure of the health centre until the perpetrators brought to book.
2. Medical care for the assaulted nurses.
3. Series of meetings with authorities in the community on the matter 4. The decision to allow the staff involved to be with their families for the the time being.

The nurses are doing well and in good health.

MEETING WITH DISTRICT POLICE COMMANDER
The delegation met the police Commander @ the Osoroase police station for briefing on the case. At the Police station.

the Commander informed the Oda Divisional Commander of our presence who also requested to meet the Executives.

During the meeting, the Divisional Commander assured that all efforts are being made to get the culprit arrested and that they’ve gathered intelligence that he (the culprit) is in a hide out in certain “galamsey” site.

The delegation also made the Police aware how serious we are with this issue and are not ready to leave it to rest until the perpetrator is arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.

VISIT TO ODA CNMTC
Oda CNMTC was next on the list. We had an opportunity to meet the 3rd year students to engage and explain GRNMA issues to them.

ODA GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL
Finally, the team took the opportunity to visit the Nurse Manager of Oda Government Hospital.
