GRNMA SUPPORTS A SICK MEMBER IN NADOWLI-KALEO DISTRICT, UWR ONCE AGAIN
The President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA), Madam Perpetual Ofori- Ampofo through the Association’s HealthFund support has once again supported a member in the Nadowli-Kaleo District with an amount of Six Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC6,000.00)
The member was involved in an accident and sustained a multifracmented fracture of his right thigh and is receiving treatment at the Upper West Regional Hospital, Wa.
This intervention is timely as it would support him take care of his medical bills.
The victim, Kennedy Wulle had earlier secured a loan facility from the same association at a rate of 10% to initiate the treatment as the high cost of treatment in the health sector is no respecter of background.
The Nadowli-Kaleo area alone has so far received about One Hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GHC100,000.00) as support from the Association’s Health and Disaster Fund since the Fund contribution from total dues was increased from 3% to 6%.
Present at the presentation were the Nadowli-Kaleo District Director of Health Service, Madam Phoebe Balaguyetime, some Nurse Managers in the region, and a cross-section of the Regional and District executives of the Association. The event happened on the sidelines of the vetting to select the best Nurses and Midwives to represent the region in this year’s contest at the National level, one of the most famous policy interventions introduced by the Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo regime.
The Regional Chairman stressed that the support does not replace the role of the Employer in absorbing half of the medical bills of the member, their spouse, and four children in a time of ill health but rather complements that.
On her part, the District’s Director of Health who presented the cheque on behalf of the Association thanked the leadership of the association for the good works they have been doing and encouraged the beneficiary to be an ambassador of the good works of the association.
The beneficiary, Mr. Kennedy Wulle expressed his appreciation to the President and the entire leadership of the association for the support received and promised to be a true ambassador of GRNMA.
