Vice Chancellor for Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) in the Central Region, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Ayim Boakye has bemoaned the recent accommodation inadequacy confronting his outfit.

According to him, the school’s Management has targeted to double its available bed space by next year, having reproved of the university’s stalled GETFund projects.

He recounted that thankfully, the Governing Council has given Management the permission to explore all legal means to ensure a lasting solution to the school’s accommodation challenge.

The Vice Chancellor on CCTU’s accommodation challenge, appealed for government’s swift intervention to complement the Technical University’s efforts aimed at closing its infrastructure gap.

Prof. Kwaku Adutwum echoed this at the university’s 20th congregation which saw a total of 1,130 graduands conferred various degree of qualifications.

Out of which, 262 students graduated at the Bachelor of Technology level, 629 at the Higher National Diploma level, and 239 at the Diploma level.

Mrs. Harriet Karikari, an Alumnus of the school who doubles as the African Vice President in charge of Western Africa at the Institute of Internal Auditors, adviced graduands to anticipate the challenges that lies ahead of them.

To which, she highlighted the surge of unemployment in the country, evolution of the world which comes with innumerable global issues such as climate change, digitalization, energy issues, and social inequality among others.

She enlightened that as leaders of tomorrow, it beholds on the fresh graduands to confront these challenges head-on and work at building a more sustainable future for themselves.
