RESIDENTS OF WASSA AGAVE WAIL OVER THEIR DETERIORATING BRIDGE, CALLING ON THEIR MP AND DCE TO PAY URGENT ATTENTION TO THE SITUATION
Wassa Agave is a typical farming community notably known for the production of cocoa, cassava, plantain and vegetables in the Wassa East district of western region. They have population of over 1,500 people.
One major problem in the community which has recently been a talking point is their bridge that links Soko to the main Agave community where the only public school in the area Agave D/A Basic School is located.

Lamenting the predicaments that the people in the area go through, the residents said, majority of the school children who attend school at Agave D/A Basic School live at Soko, Adjake and Avor (All are suburbs of Wassa Agave) behind the deathtrap bridge.
The ages of these school children range from 5 to 12 years. Every week not less than three of these school children fall in a river because of the highly disjointed state of the bridge on that river, although no death has been recorded so far.
The residents appealed to the MP of Wassa East constituency Hon Isaac Adjei Mensah and the DCE for Wassa East district Hon Emmanuel Boakye to as a matter of urgency construct a new vibrant bridge to facilitate safe movement in the area.
