The district director of education in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district of central region Mrs. Attakorah Augustina is lamenting bitterly that, most of the parents in the district particularly in the rural communities have lost interest in their children’s education but rather taking the children to farms during school days.
This, she said is bad attitude which should never be countenanced in any society. Mrs. Attakorah Augustina also disclosed that, some of the parents who allow their wards to come to school also take them to farm early in the morning before they come to school late in the morning which most of these children miss first and sometimes second lessons.
She therefore advised parents and guardians to invest so much in their children’s education today and reap it in future.
She made this statement when she paid visit to some of the schools in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district

The district chief executive of Twifo Atti-morkwa district Hon. Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi also admonished parents and guardians whose children are currently in the junior high schools to make advance preparation towards Senior High School before the children finish JHS.
He said, many children who pass their BECE are not able to go to SHS because of lack of adequate preparation by their parents. This inversely has psychological and social effects on these children who are denied by their parents the right to enjoy the free senior high education.
