The regional celebration of the 2023 International day of the Midwife was held at the Comfort Asiamah Conference Hall in Eastern GRNMA Guest House on Wednesday (May 10, 2023) .
In attendance were Mrs Rosephilo Adomah, the Eastern Regional CNMO, Mrs Beatrice Kwaning, Nurse Manager St Joseph Hospital – Koforidua (Chairperson for the Occasion), Dr Ernestina Asiedua, Snr Lecturer University of Ghana (Key Note Speaker), REC, Regional Executive of the Midwives’ Group.
Midwives from the various districts in the region were well represented.
The day was marked by a seminar on the theme: ” Unity Amongst Midwives: A key factor in the empowerment of Midwives in Ghana” highlighting the importance of team work, collaboration and the need to learn from one another.
Participants asked questions, making the session very interactive.
The occasion was used to present a citation in honour of the 2022/2023 Best Midwife in the Region Ms Veronica Mawuena Finu, who was elected by the GHS on 5th May, during the National Launch of the IDM.
