A LETTER OF COMMENDATION TO NCA.
Dear NCA,
First of all, I must commend you for the yeoman’s efforts you have put into the registration and linking of SIM cards to our Ghana Cards.
Your efforts to sanitize the system are yielding tangible fruits. We urge you to leave no stones unturned in your objective of sanitizing the mobile network space.
Many were those who were complaining about the possibility of their Ghana Cards being linked to SIM cards which do not belong to them. In fact, some experienced it.
In response to these calls, you have brought the short code *402*1# to check which numbers are linked to our Ghana Cards. This is laudable as it is working perfectly well.
However, some issues need addressing. There are some teething issues which require clarity from your team.
- How is it possible that some people have realized that more than 10 SIM cards are linked to their Ghana Cards when we were told that one person cannot link more than 10 SIMs to his or her Ghana Card?
- How come some have had numbers linked to their Ghana Cards without their knowledge, numbers they themselves do not own?
- How do these people normalize or rectify these anomalies?
- If someone owns many numbers and would want to delink some of them so that he or she may want to bring onboard numbers of other network operators, how can that be done?
The above are issues some of us would like to be tackled by your outfit as they form the bulk of the challenges being faced by the populace.
All in all, thanks to the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his digitalization agenda, you are doing exemplary well.
