DIRECTS JOSEPH ANTOBAM (AHALJI OB) TO STEP ASIDE AS CHAIRMAN OF THE EKUMFI CONSTITUENCY -NDC, C/R

NDC CENTRAL REGION DIRECTS JOSEPH ANTOBAM (AHALJI OB) TO STEP ASIDE AS CHAIRMAN OF THE EKUMFI CONSTITUENCY.

We bring you warm greetings from the Regional Party Secretariat of the Party.
Following the Regional Functional Executive Committee’s (FEC) meeting with
the Ekumfi Constituency Executives on Thursday, 13th April 2023, at the
Kofi Mintah Conference Hall at the Regional Party Secretariat in Cape Coast, FEC exhaustively deliberated on the matter, did extensive consultation, and
has accordingly resolved as follows:

The directive for Comrade Joseph Antobam to step aside as constituency
chairman of the Ekumfi Constituency of the National Democratic
Congress (NDC) is still in force, and the same is affirmed by the Regional
Functional Executive Committee (FEC).

In effect, the decision by the Central Regional Leadership of the Party in respect of this matter still stands.

Consequently, Regional FEC has resolved that, in view of the current
dynamics in the Ekumfi Constituency, it is imperative to invoke the
supervisory jurisdiction and administrative authority of the region given
under Articles 16 (7) (b), 19 (7) (a) (c), and 23 (4) (5) of the NDC Party
Constitution.

Accordingly, Regional FEC has assigned Hon Ekow Panyin Okyere
Eduamoah, Regional Vice Chairman in charge of Operations, to preside
over the affairs of Ekumfi Constituency with immediate effect until a
further directive from the region.

For the avoidance of doubt, until a further directive is issued by FEC to the contrary in respect of the decision stated in point 1 of this letter,
Comrade Joseph Antobam, A.K.A ‘’ Ahalji OBI’’, shall not hold himself as
the chairman of the Ekumfi constituency.

By a copy of this letter, the Regional Vice Chairman, Hon Ekow Panyin
Okyere Eduamoah is hereby directed to take over the affairs of the
Ekumfi Constituency and work closely with the Constituency Executive
Committee to ensure the continuation of all party programmes and
activities including the conduct of the Presidential and Parliamentary
primaries slated for 13th May 2023.

FEC further directs that the Constituency Secretary of the Ekumfi
Constituency takes the necessary steps to communicate this decision to
the Constituency Executive Committee as well as all Ward Coordinators.
