In no time, the rains will set in, and indications are that we are going to witness massive cloudbursts considering what is currently happening all over the globe.

mcOnline, as part of its work, has been touring the Central Region to ascertain the level of preparedness as we await the rains and related triggers of water-borne diseases .

mcOnline visited Roman Hill, a suburb of Elmina in the KEEA District of the Central Region of Ghana, and saw for itself massive waste .

It’s a real sanitation time-bomb.

Already , the Covid-19 pandemic has overstretched the health systems in the country, and any outbreak of infection such as cholera during the upcoming rainy season would be very disastrous for the Health Service system of the Country.

mcOnline’s visit revealed that there are still those who engage in open defecation at the time of visit, and as such Local Authorities must put measures in place to getting this social ill under control or better still eradicated.

A lot more needs to be done in terms of behaviour change communication in helping deal with sanitation issues.

Good sanitation anywhere is a good sanitation everywhere.

Issues of sanitation are National in Outlook, and they border on National Security as well .

Your District could be the next destination .

See something. Say something.
