GRNMA UPPER WEST REGION SUPPORTS A MIDWIFE WITH A CHEQUE VALUED AT GHC8,000.00 IN THE NANDOM MUNICIPALITY OF THE UPPER WEST REGION
On January 22, 2024, the leadership of GRNMA in the Upper West Region, joined the Nandom Municipal Executives to present a cheque of Gh8,000 to Madam Louisa Aabepour, a midwife who works at the Ko Polyclinic to help recover part of the cost of surgical operation she underwent.
The short presentation ceremony was attended by the Municipal Director of Health Services, Madam Rukaya Wumnaya, (who is herself a nurse and a member of the Union), a representative of Nurse Manager of the St. Theresa’s Hospital in Nandom, Mr. Julius Abesig, as well as members from the hospital, the Ko Polyclinic and the Municipal Health Administration.
The Municipal Chairman of the GRNMA, Mr. Yendor-Naa Kafuule John, explained the rationale for the ceremony and expressed his gratitude to NEC and all who made it possible for the support of his member in her time of need.
He concluded that, the support from the health fund, which also covers other natural disasters like flood and fire, was to support our members to foot the bills of the rest of the 50% of the cost of their illness.
When she received her cheque, the beneficiary, Madam Aabepour Louisa, expressed her shock, joy and profound gratitude to Madam President, the NEC, GRNMA in the Upper West Region, the Nandom Municipality and the country at large, not only for the donation to her, but also for all the good things GRNMA is doing for members especially the stress-free PIN renewal for all members in good standing. She promised to advocate for the Union wherever she finds herself.
