A 12 YEAR OLD BOY DROWN IN A GALAMSEY PIT, RESCUER ALSO ENTRAPPED AT TWIFO EDUABENG

According to Abusuapanin Kwadwo Boamah, the deceased together with his younger brother went to cast hook (fishing) in one of the streams in the area. Abusuapanin Boamah further explained that, there are galamsey pits full of water around where the children were fishing so in the process, the 12 year old boy slipped and fell into the pit.

A 12 year old boy Kwaku Isaac has fallen in a galamsey pit at Twifo Eduabeng in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district of central region.

According to Abusuapanin Kwadwo Boamah, the deceased together with his younger brother went to cast hook (fishing) in one of the streams in the area. Abusuapanin Boamah further explained that, there are galamsey pits full of water around where the children were fishing so in the process, the 12 year old boy slipped and fell into the pit.

The other younger brother quickly returned home after the incident but failed to inform his parents about what has happened until late in the evening yesterday when his parents asked about his brother before the younger brother told them.

The entire community upon hearing the news massed up at the incident scene to rescue the victim. Unfortunately one of the drivers Koo Fante popularly in the area also met his untimely death alongside the 12 year old boy in the process of searching for the boy.

Listowel Aboagye Dacosta of Wassaman Fm also spoke with the assembly man of Eduabeng electoral area Hon. Francis Odoom who disclosed that the matter was subsequently reported to Twifo Atti-morkwa district police command where investigations have commenced.
