Yvonne Nelson didn’t write a thesis or dissertation for academic purposes for which reason same must be subjected to the ingredients you enumerated.

She wrote a memoir, her own life story which, to the best of her knowledge, captures every minute detail of the topical subjects she dealt with in her book. That is completely worlds apart from a thesis or dissertation.

She wrote about herself, and justifiably so, she owed no one any explanation as to how she should go about telling her story.

Inasmuch as she has that inalienable freedom to write whatever she deemed fit, it was important for her to realize that if she mentioned others, they’d react to their portions.

They cannot be blamed for doing so because Yvonne chose to write about herself and not them. They can better tell their own stories as Yvonne sought to tell us hers.

My point is, she may have written her story and roped others in, those people reserve every right to straighten the crooked lines of their versions as captured by Yvonne.

In doing so, they may choose routes which maybe undulating or unappealing to Yvonne and her friends. They can’t be faulted for same. They are not to respond in a manner that would be soothing to Yvonne and her team.

Yvonne drew the first blood and they may draw pounds of same in their responses. If you ask me, the book was beautifully written as it explores various aspects of her life.

As a student of literature, I cannot help but to fall in love with how it was written. The illustrations made the book an aesthetic success. This doesn’t mean that I fancy and believe everything in the book.

People would analyze a memoir from their own perspectives and not from any laid down formula or parameters set for same. We appreciate the beauty of the memoir but the inconsistencies and half-truths had to be responded to by those who felt slighted by it. Sarkodie belongs to this class.

I still remain your student,

P.K. Sarpong (Whispers).
