FLAGSHIP SCHOOL FEEDING POLICY BECOMING CHAOTIC-P.K SARPONG.

The School Feeding front is becoming one of chaos due to the Secretariat’s inability to pay caterers who have cooked for months if not a year without being paid.

Some of the school feeding caterers have not been paid for more than a year and these women have incurred losses as a result of this.

As I write, many of these caterers have stopped cooking for months and justifiably so because they have run out of stocks and do not have money to continue cooking for the kids they’re responsible for.

Some owe shop owners and food vendors for months and haven’t been able to settle these debts. They’re, therefore, not been receiving additional food items to continue cooking for school kids.

If the Secretariat is oblivious to this fact, then they better get their acts together. The caterers must be told the honest truth so that these spates of protests would cease.

Caterers are struggling to do their work as effectively as we would want to see, and the sooner this issue is addressed, the better for the sector.
