(Episode Three)

P.K.Sarpong (Whispers).

He paced up and down the emergency ward’s corridors as he kept wondering what was going on behind that closed door. She had lost a lot of blood from the multiple wounds she sustained.

The Doctor came out. “Gentleman, your girlfriend, God loves her. The amount of blood she lost and the internal bleeding she suffered could have easily killed her. The operation was successful but she needs to rest so you can’t see her now”

The Doctor left before George could offer any explanation as to how come he found himself at the hospital with her. The Doctor assumed wrongly, he realized.

That is not even important. Her condition now is what matters to me. Thank God she is finally safe as she had begged me to save her from dying in that car crash, he said to himself.

It’d been almost 8 hours since her hospitalization. George waited. He wanted to be sure she was indeed safe before he would leave, for good.

A nurse popped up. “Gentleman, your girlfriend is awake. It is safe for you to see her” she said and led the way.

She was draped in plasters and gauze bandages. Her eyes were sea blue, slender body and beauteous. He dispelled these thoughts.

“Hi, how are you doing? And what’s your name?” George waited for her to respond.

She was looking at him as though she was trying to recall where exactly she knew him from.

She recalled after some seconds and forced a smile through the pains coursing through her system.

“Hello! I’m fine. My name is Daph. Daphne Nsiah. Thank you very much for saving me” she said, with a heart filled with gratitude.

“I am George Danso. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time, and that’s how come I could rescue you from the accident. I am happy you are out of the woods’ he said.

“Please, can I get a phone to call my parents? As you know, I lost everything in the accident”. He handed her his Samsung Galaxy 10 Plus phone and stepped out as she was making her calls.

25 minutes later, her mother arrived at the hospital. “Who is this gentleman? I hope he will not cause problems between you and your Charles. I don’t want any miscreant around you” her mum said.

“Ah, mummy! What are you saying? He saved me!”

“And so what?” George stepped outside for mother and daughter to continue talking.
